A specialist recruitment agency, focusing on the things we do well. We focus exclusively on Finance & IT and cover permanent and interim staffing solutions at all levels within these areas.
At Marble Mayne, we specialise. We believe the best recruitment companies are those with specialist knowledge, networks and passion in just a few core areas. Finance is our core focus, and we primarily recruit Finance & Accounting professionals for charitable organisations and those with a social purpose. This covers temporary, interim and permanent recruitment, both part-time and full-time. We have placed hundreds of finance professionals in the not-for-profit sector – many with prior sector experience and others looking to move into this amazing space.
We recruit at all levels within finance, and for any role you would find in a not-for-profit finance team. This covers jobs such as: Accounts Assistant, Finance Officer, Bookkeeper, Financial Accountant, Management Accountant, Project Accountant, Grant Accountant, Programme Accountant, Project Accountant, Systems Accountant, Finance Business Partner, Finance Analyst, Transactions Manager, Finance Manager, Financial Controller,Head of Finance, Finance Director, Resources Director, Chief Financial Officer and Finance Trustee / Treasurer.
Finance in the not-for-profit sector is unique, and we pride ourselves on our knowledge and expertise in this area. In smaller organisations a finance department may comprise of a single person, a Sole-Charge Bookkeeper or Finance Manager reporting directly to the CEO and working with an external accountant at year-end and audit time. A mid-sized charitable organisation may have a handful of finance staff lead by a Finance Director expected to wear many hats, often with responsibility for IT, HR, Facilities and Operations alongside Finance. Larger tier organisations are different again typically with separate strands of the finance team focusing on financial transactions & financial accounting versus management accounting and business partnering. International charities will typically have programmes finance teams focused on donor reporting, project accounting for overseas activities and multi-currency transactions. There are many nuances and complexities to charity finance, that in our eyes make the sector compelling for any finance professional.
Accounting for Gift Aid, calculating partial exemption for VAT, producing Charity SORP Accounts at year-end, accounting for restricted & unrestricted funds, replacing legacy finance systems with cloud-based packages, building appropriate reserves and accounting for trading subsidiaries are all part of charity finance life. Funding streams can vary hugely – from a Student Union funded by a block grant from the University to a traditional charity reliant on individual donations. A museum funded by an Arts Council grant and income from their shop & café to a grant giving foundation with a large endowment distributing grants to other charities. Other charities will have a federal set-up with a Head Office linked to smaller regional franchises at the heart of their community, contracting services with the local authority. At Marble Mayne we genuinely understand the world of charity finance and know what is needed for organisations to thrive, and for finance professionals to flourish in this environment. We are proud members of the Charity Finance Group (CFG) and we love playing our part to help make the world a better place.
